Diaz joins Morocco national team after leaving Spain

Brahim Díaz, a former star for Spain’s U21 team, has chosen to defect from his home country and play for Morocco’s senior squad instead.

The offensive midfielder for Real Madrid will now represent Africa rather than his home nation, claims football analyst Fabricio Romano.

Despite only making one appearance for Spain’s senior national team, Diaz is still eligible to play for Morocco thanks to his experience with the Spanish U17, U19, and U21 teams.

According to Romano, the 24-year-old has informed the Moroccan Federation of his final decision.

He mentioned that he will be playing for Morocco instead of Spain.

“It will be officially announced by all parties involved at some point.”

Brahim can play for the Moroccan national team because his parents are Moroccan and Spanish. He was born in Spain.
