Man City’s defeat at the hands of Liverpool left them feeling disappointed, according to Stones

According to Manchester City defender John Stones, his team was disappointed since Pep Guardiola’s squad was unable to seize first place in the Premier League due to a 1-1 tie.

In the 23rd minute, Stones rewarded Man City’s early dominance at Anfield by turning in Kevin De Bruyne’s low corner.

Just after halfway, Alexis Mac Allister scored from the penalty spot to tie the game, putting the visitors in a tough place as they battled back against Liverpool’s dominant second half performance.

Man City’s undefeated streak in all competitions reached 21 games after the draw.

However, they have moved up to third place in the Premier League rankings, where they will compete head-to-head with Arsenal and Liverpool.

We could have been two or three goals ahead early on,” Stones remarked in his post-match interview.

“But we are aware of the challenge we face and the team we are facing; I believe we are feeling a little discouraged in the locker room, but we came here to win.”
