Evans Ogenyi, an assistant coach for Rivers United, has stated that his squad is not feeling any kind of pressure as they prepare to face Dreams FC of Ghana in the CAF Confederation Cup.
On Sunday (today), the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo will play host to the champions of the Ghanaian Cup, who will be hosted by the Port Harcourt team.
With nine points after five games, the hosts are in third place in Group C, three points behind leaders Dreams FC.
Rivers United can secure their spot in the quarterfinals with a 1-0 win.
Ogenyi has promised to play to their maximum potential because they are aware of the stakes.
Since we are aware that it is not an insurmountable obstacle, we are not feeling any kind of pressure. The possibility is high.
Our trip to Ghana ended in a 2-1 loss. “We are fully aware of the responsibility that we have towards the people of Rivers State and Nigeria as a whole,” he informed the club’s media.
“Therefore, we are aware of the stakes, and I think that, given our actions, Rivers United representing Nigeria has a good chance of qualifying.”
