On Thursday morning, a group of bandits took hostage a large number of students and faculty members at LGEA Primary School in Kuriga (1), Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

According to information acquired by DAILY POST, the event occurred shortly after the morning assembly, at approximately 8:20 in the morning.

Relatives and neighbors of the school claimed that the headmaster and several employees were among those killed.

Shehu Sani, a former senator from Kaduna, voiced his disapproval of the act and his hope that they would soon be free.

In Kuriga village, Chikun LG, Kaduna State, 232 pupils were abducted recently, which is a horrific event.

School principal Idris Sufyan and his wife were abducted and murdered in this very village more over thirty days ago. But I’m hopeful their freedom will be preserved, he added.

A few years ago, the junior and secondary schools left their old school outside of Kuriga town and moved to the school inside the town owing to safety concerns.

Shitu, a local, verified the event and said that upon seeing the bandits on school grounds, the majority of students bolted from their classrooms.

Lawal Kuriga, another local, corroborated the idea that the kidnapped people were led into the woods.

No official response from the state administration or the police was received at the time this report was being prepared.

The former senator’s claimed figure has also not been verified by the authorities.
